What the S5 does

The PadBot S5 is an autonomous outdoor security patrol robot, supplied in South Africa by EzeBot as the EzeBot EB05. It adds a mobile observation point to your security operation: it follows commissioned patrol routes, brings selected events to an operator's attention and lets your team speak to people near the robot. Security personnel assess what it shows and coordinate the response.

Routes it repeats, night after night

Define operating areas, scheduled rounds and site-appropriate speeds. 3D LiDAR mapping and inertial sensing keep the S5 on its commissioned route on concrete, stone paving, grass and sand.

Your control room, on the move

Operators supervise patrols from a PC or phone, look through the zoom camera, talk over the two-way intercom and play approved announcements. Alerts support their judgement; they do not replace it.

Questions about the S5

Is the PadBot S5 available in South Africa?

Yes. EzeBot supplies the PadBot S5 (EzeBot EB05) in South Africa on quotation, from George in the Western Cape. Add it to your quote list or ask a specialist about your site.

Does a patrol robot replace security guards?

No. The S5 takes on repeat rounds and observation. It follows commissioned routes, flags selected events for an operator and lets your team speak through it. People still assess what it shows and decide how to respond.

What does the S5 cost in South Africa?

The price depends on the configuration: camera package, thermal option, analytics, connectivity, charging and support. Add the S5 to your quote list or tell us about your site, and we will send a configuration proposal with pricing.

Can it patrol at night and in the rain?

Night rounds use the starlight-grade camera, and thermal imaging can be specified. PadBot publishes a 15 cm water fording depth, which is not an ingress protection rating, so weather protection and operating temperatures are confirmed for your site before deployment.

How long does it run on a charge?

PadBot publishes 10 hours of operating time and a 6 hour standard charge, with automatic or plug-in charging. Runtime changes with route, speed and equipment use, so charging windows are built into the patrol schedule.

What does the site need?

Routes the robot can drive (up to a 25° climb and 10 cm obstacles), a powered charging point, and mobile network coverage along the route. Put the charger, network equipment and control room on backup power so patrols continue during outages.

Does POPIA apply to a camera robot?

Yes. Video and audio of identifiable people is personal information, as with fixed CCTV. The site operator needs a lawful purpose, signage that tells people about the collection, secure storage and retention rules. We raise this during the site assessment; confirm your obligations with your own legal adviser.

Who makes the S5?

Guangdong Padbot Robotics Ltd., a robotics company in Guangzhou, China, founded in 2013. The specifications on this page are published by the manufacturer.
